What fellow travelers had to say about the music during our pilgrimage

Jeanne Branch
St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church Waynesboro, VA
"We were so fortunate to have Amelia bring her great musical leadership and liturgical talents to our Holy Land pilgrimage in February 2023. Amelia greatly enhanced our pilgrimage experience by her careful preparing the worship aid and song booklet; by her beautiful voice and leadership encouraging all pilgrims to join in joyful song; and, by her developing and sharing a Spotify pilgrimage playlist that many still listen to today. She supported and worked well with our priest and myself and all our pilgrims are so grateful for her presence and leadership. She brings her love and faith to all her work."

Margie & Tim Sherman
Church of the Incarnation
Charlottesville, VA
"Our trip of a lifetime to the Holy Land left us with magical memories, thanks in part to Amelia's musical gifts. Her deep understanding of the connection between holy music to the liturgy and church tradition provided our group with an unforgettable experience. Additionally, it was impressive to witness her agility in adapting the musical program to the occasional "change in plan" and to share spontaneous fun sing-alongs throughout the journey. Jerusalem - My Destiny!"

Anna Campbell
Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church
Harrisonburg, VA
"Amelia served as the music minister during our Pilgrimage to the Holy Land in 2023. Between wonderful music repertoire, warm and vibrant personality and her amazing voice, Amelia enhanced our experiences and turned our trip into a deep spiritual revival. She was a delight to be around and I highly recommend her for any Christian pilgrimage team!"
Commonly Asked Questions about Music or Vocal Direction
How far in advance do you book yourself for shows or pilgrimages?
One year notice is preferred. Depending on the scope of needs for the commitment and the time of year, it may be possible to make arrangements a few months prior to the date of the first rehearsal or departure date.

What is your rate?
The stipend is negotiable, depending on the time commitment.
A couple examples of recent projects:
One-time sub: $75/hour plus gas reimbursement
Short-term commitment of 1-2 weeks, rehearsal once a week: $75/hour
3 week commitment, 4 to 5 (3 hour) rehearsals per week plus performances: $2000 flat fee

Do you play piano?
I am comfortable playing the piano to teach vocal parts or lead a congregation, but will admit that piano is not my primary instrument. I am happy to recommend one of my many talented colleagues for jobs that are beyond my ability! When providing vocal direction for shows, I have found having a dedicated pianist or rehearsal tracks especially helpful in allowing me to better listen to the singers!
